Privacy policy

This policy explains what information the CricSip app and website collect, why, and the choices you have. CricSip ("CricSip", "we", "us") is an online service operated from India.
What we collect
When you create an account
- Your mobile number, to verify that it's you and to keep your stats tied to one profile.
- Your name, and optionally a photo, city, playing role, and batting and bowling style.
When you score or play a match
- Teams, player names, rules, and every ball scored. Matches can include players who don't have the app yet, added by name by the scorer.
- If someone adds you to a match using your mobile number, the match stays pending until you confirm it's you.
When you use the app
- Device and app information such as device model, operating system, app version, and crash reports, so we can fix problems.
- Only if you allow it: your contacts, so you can pick players when adding them to a team (we only save the players you choose); your photos, to set a player or profile photo; notifications, for match and tournament updates; and Face ID or fingerprint, to unlock the app. Biometric data stays on your device and is never sent to us.
When you contact us
- Whatever you include in your email or message to us, such as your name, contact details and tournament details.
How we use it
- To run the app: scoring, match details, profiles and career stats.
- To verify your account and protect it from misuse.
- To reply to your messages and organiser enquiries, and to send important service updates.
- To find and fix bugs and improve CricSip.
We don't sell your personal information. CricSip shows no third-party ads.
What other people can see
- Your name, photo, and match stats are visible to other CricSip users, because that's how players follow matches and records.
- Your mobile number is never shown to other users.
- Innings played as a Protected Player are never shown on any profile.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers who help us run CricSip, under contract, and only for that purpose:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): servers, database and photo storage.
- An SMS provider: sending one-time passwords (OTP) to verify your mobile number.
- Sentry: crash and error reports.
- Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivering push notifications.
- An email delivery provider: sending account and service emails.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you use CricSip. If you delete your account, we remove your personal details within 30 days. Scorecards from matches you played stay, because they are part of other players' records, but your name is replaced with "Deleted player". See how to delete your account.
Your choices
- Edit your profile details in the app at any time.
- Reject a match you've been wrongly added to.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by writing to hello@cricsip.in.
Children
CricSip is for people aged 13 and over. Players under 18 should use it with a parent's or guardian's permission.
Security
We protect data in transit and limit who on our team can access it. No system is completely secure, so tell us at hello@cricsip.in if you notice anything wrong.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll tell you in the app.
